Our Mission
The Capacity and Development for Civil Society (CDCS) NGO aims to promote the development of civil society and capacity building of civic action groups and organizations in the Republic of Armenia

Our Vision
By 2010, CDCS’s vision is to empower  citizens and 1,000 youth from  more then 20 communities throughout Armenia and train them in civic leadership, project design and management, technical skills, so they can implement projects and events that benefit their community.

Goals
1) To expand our funding base by setting up of a Limited Liability Company (LLC) to finance operations through provision of services to local NGOs
2) To expand our funding base by partnering with international NGOs and implementing long-term projects which sustain operations and allow for further capacity building of CDCS
3) To build the capacity of CDCS through strengthening of organizational structures, professional development trainings for staff, networking and partnership with other NGOs.

Strategies
Organizational development – TOT for staff, TOT for volunteers, Responsibility, references, contracts, B&B, partners., rural areas, youth development and active participation.

Objectives 2008 
-By the end of 2008, CDCS will have two to three full-time employees who will be managing projects and providing the logistics support that the organization will need.
-By the end of 2008, CDCS will have implemented IOC camp for the second time. The camp will train 120 local youth and staff in civic education, project management skills, and other technical abilities, which will further the capacity of CDCS and ensure sustainability of the project in the future.
-By the end of 2008, CDCS will have implemented three to five European Youth in Action projects, either by sending representative group to Europe or organizing projects in Armenia.
-By the end of 2008, CDCS will have implemented an educational project serving youth in the rural villages of Lori region, in partnership with IREX.
-By the end of 2008, CDCS will have established a partnership with partner NGO from Netherlands and implementing a long-term youth project under the MATRA framework (planned start date September 2009).
Results
-In 2008, CDCS hired two full-time and two part-time employees who are managing projects and providing the logistics support that the organization needs.
-In 2008, CDCS implemented IOC camp for the second time. The camp train 120 local and international youth and staff in civic education, project management skills, and other technical abilities, which  furthered the capacity of CDCS and ensured sustainability of the project in the future and its progress to the second stage which will be an International Student Forum to be implemented in 2009.
-In 2008, CDCS implemented 2 hosting Youth exchange projects and sent one EVS volunteer as well as groups and individuals to over ten Youth in Action activities.
-In 2008, CDCS implemented an educational project serving youth in the rural villages of Lori region, in partnership with IREX.
-In 2008, CDCS will have established a partnership with EIDP NGO from the Netherlands and will start implementing a long-term youth project under the MATRA framework (planned start date September 2009).

Objectives 2009-2010 
-By the end of 2009, CDCS will have implemented International Student Forum, The forum will train 80 local and international youth and staff in Country and Issue studies, Leadership, Diplomacy and Community.
-By the end of 2009, CDCS will have implemented One More Step Up, which will train 50 young people from low income families in civic leadership, life skills and sharing cultures.
-By the end of 2009, CDCS will have implemented human rights projects, mainly concentrating on gender issues.
- By the end of 2009, CDCS will have implemented three to five European Youth in Action projects, either by sending representative group or volunteers to Europe or hosting projects in Armenia.
-By the end of 2009, CDCS will have implemented Equal Opportunities for All the Children in the World, In partnership with US Embassy, Through this project we will provide children from the orphanage with cooking, English and computer skills.
-By the end of 2010, CDCS will have organized trainings and TOTs on observing elections both locally and internationally.
